In recent years, it has become evident that some youngsters are becoming excessively obese as they grow older. Some parents place the blame on themselves. After all, it is parents who mistakenly educate their children on what to eat and what not to eat while they are not around. Parents must take more responsibility for instilling healthy eating habits in their children while they are still young. What they learn about food at an early age will stick with them for the rest of their lives, changing the way they think about and view food.

For a busy household with multiple children, combating childhood obesity might be a difficult task but it is possible. One recommended way to promote a healthy lifestyle is the availability of healthy snack options for children to pick from. It is also a good idea to drink the appropriate amount of water according to your weight and height.

Children ought to be physically active for at least sixty minutes every day, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Parents are also teaching their children unhealthy behaviors and laziness by not encouraging physical activities. Parents are the ones who educate their children on how to exercise, and it is their obligation to start them moving.

Excessive television and video games are major contributors to the current childhood increase in obesity. Limiting children’s screen time and pushing them to be more active may save their lives. "Am I offering nutritious foods?" "Do I give and encourage healthy choices?" "Am I setting a good example for my children?" parents should ask themselves.
