Social networking sites serve as a source for us to converse with our family members and friends. We share both happy and sad moments on social media so that our friends could see how we are feeling and what we are up to in life. People enjoy our status updates and images, and they react to them to express their feelings. In today's hectic environment, this is a fantastic method to socialize. However, when we become addicted to social media, it becomes a problem.
While social media sites like Facebook and Twitter can help us connect with distant relatives and long-lost pals, social media addiction is separating us from our personal family and close friends. People who use social media spend hours glued to their screens. They don't mind whether their loved ones are sitting next to them or attempting to negotiate. They're all concerned with who posted on social media and how many people liked or commented on it.
Jealousy is one of the most unpleasant emotions a person may experience. Instead of being content with what they have, young social media addicts try to imitate others and become envious when they are unable to do so. They are torn between jealousy and pain. They are frequently overcome with sentiments of discontent and irritation. They are generally depressed because they do not feel good about themselves or their lives.
Addiction to social media is becoming a serious issue. It's odd that a forum intended to assist individuals socially is actually isolating them from society.
