More than 70 businesses started a six-month experiment of a four-day workweek in June 2022. 86% of the 41 firms that answered when asked to assess their progress after three months said they were "likely" or "very likely" to consider continuing with the four-day week when the trial period is up. The strategy is known as "100-80-100" by 4 Day Week Global and entails paying employees 100% of their wages for 80% of their hours worked while aiming for 100% productivity. Therefore, employees receive extra paid vacation time, yet it has no detrimental effects on the business. One of the participating companies' bosses referred to it as "great for our well-being."
