According to ADP Research Institute's People at Work 2023: A Global Workforce View report, 90% of Indian workers expect a pay raise this year, with 20% expecting 4-6% and 19% expecting 10-12%. 78% of workers received wage raises last year, averaging 4-6%, according to the survey. 65% of employees want merit bonuses, paid holidays, or travel pay regardless of salary. 32,000 workers in 17 countries were surveyed, including 2,000 in India. Employers must balance demands for better pay against rising costs and shrinking profit margins.

Current employees expect a raise. The recent wave of strikes in numerous nations and industries shows that workers are willing to use dramatic measures to get a raise. Employers who can't afford wage raises may have to get creative by offering more flexibility or other advantages to keep employees happy. 44% of workers worldwide feel underpaid. The cost of living issue and workers' propensity to strike for better pay and conditions are to blame.
