Read the article below.

When an individual or a business becomes insolvent, they are unable to pay their bills. It can happen when a person or organization is unable to pay their bills (this is known as Cash Flow Insolvency) or when the entire value of their liabilities exceeds the whole value of their assets.

Bankruptcy is the official, legal procedure that follows insolvency. A court will appoint someone to liquidate (sell) all assets and pay off as many debts as possible.

After the procedure is completed, the individual is no longer liable for the outstanding debts. However, they may have difficulty borrowing money in the future.

When a company's bankruptcy procedure is finished, the business is closed and no longer exists.

Insolvent individuals are not required to apply for formal bankruptcy. They could come up with another solution to their dilemma.
