To help its office staff unwind from the pressures of daily life and the fears brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the sportswear business Nike granted them a holiday. Employees at the clothing giant received a week-long mental health break. To give its employees "enjoy additional time off to rest and recover," it closed its doors from August 23 to August 30. Nike stated that it intended to concentrate on preventing "burnout." "Our senior leaders are all sending a clear message - take the time to unwind, de-stress, and spend time with your loved ones. Do not work," said Matt Marrazzo, senior manager of global marketing science at Nike. Nike's retail locations are still open, and store employees are working as usual.

According to Mr. Marrazzo, the business is leading the way in taking its employees' mental health into account. He said: "Taking time for rest and recovery is key to performing well and staying sane. This past year has been rough. We're all human and living through a traumatic event." He added: "I'm hopeful that the empathy and grace we continue to show our team-mates will have a positive impact on the culture of work moving forward." Marrazzo said the week off was "an acknowledgment that we can prioritize mental health and still get work done." He emphasized the significance of a company considering its employees.
