In the UK, if people aren't talking about the weather, they're probably drinking tea - or they might be doing both. Although it is a stereotype, it is nonetheless true. Heating the kettle is the solution to everything for many Britons.

In the UK, it's estimated that up to 100 million cups of tea are consumed daily. However, how do Britons prepare the ideal cup of tea? 70% of Britons think that the tea bag should be put in the cup first, then the boiling water, and then the milk, according to a survey from 2021. When the Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Company surveyed roughly 2,000 people about their preferred method of brewing tea, they discovered that alternate approaches were far less common. A little over 10% of respondents claimed they add the water first, followed by the tea bag, while others stated they add the milk first, followed by the tea bag, water, and so on.

A question about the sort of milk individuals use in their tea was also included in the survey, and the results revealed that 75% of respondents preferred cow's milk compared to 7.3% who use non-dairy milk and 13% preferred their tea to be served black. A little more than 65% of individuals don't add any sugar to their tea, while 33% prefer one to two spoons and 6% add three or more. How, therefore, do Britons consume 100 million cups of tea each day? Approximately 35% of people drink one or two cups of tea per day, 30% or more drink three to five, and 15% enjoy five or more.
