Around the world, more and more people are attending universities. However, a degree is only sometimes a ticket to a well-paying career; for other students, the journey rather than the final destination is what matters. Many lucrative occupations are available to those without a degree if money is what they're after. Firefighters, police officers, construction managers, and makeup artists are a few professions that could pay you well without requiring a degree.

According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, a firefighter's average annual wage in the US is just slightly less than the national average, which is roughly $58,000. However, the average income in New Jersey and California exceeds $80,000 annually. Police officers in the US get an average salary of $70,000 or more. Construction managers collaborate with all the various groups to make sure that everything proceeds as planned. And the yearly average wage for construction managers in the US is close to $110,000. Makeup artists make an average of roughly $130,000 in California, the home of Hollywood, and New York, the home of Broadway.
